Do your dogs enjoy snow?
Do they like to run?
Do they like to jump?
Do they like to play with snowy tugs?
... Or with one another?
So, what are you waiting for? Let's go!

Look at all the fun that we have on our Dogz Playground every day! Running, chasing, jumping, tugging, frisbeeing and even playing with a humongous red EGG! :) Here is Indy and her younger brother Rookie - he may be taller but he's still a baby. First Indy dragged her brother around... I mean, took her brother for a walk. Then Sue brought the amazing red egg! Indy can't contain herself! So happy! Rookie has no idea why Indy is so happy but he knows his older sister knows best, so he'll jump for the egg too! He also has no idea why Indy would be chasing after the egg, but it's lots of fun to chase after her! He'll wait politely when Indy gets tired. And then all the fun begins again. And again. And again... :) I had no idea one (or two) could have so much fun with a gigantic egg! And here's Krypto warming up for his agility practice with his favourite toy - a frisbee! He looks pretty happy at it. We also got to crash-test new tugs made by Kim as a fundraising effort for the Aussie Rescue of Ontario - AROO. The tugs got a stamp of approval from not only dogs but also a bear! Over the Thanksgiving weekend we had a great pleasure doing a photo shoot for Meghan, Jeff and their 3 dogs - Kyra, Tyson and Carl. Kyra is an older boxer girl - but don't let the graying muzzle fool you - this girl can run, fetch and jump better than many youngsters! Her younger brother, Tyson, is a pitbull (born before the ban and therefore legal in Ontario) - and he's just the sweetest dog, just like most pitbulls are! He's fast, smart, athletic and really just incredibly charming! Kissy, cuddly, polite and a wonderful brother to his 2 siblings. And - the youngest of the pack - a 6 months old Italian Mastiff, Carl. He was the most lovable pup I've seen in a long time. Half way through the shoot I was ready to take him home with me! :) He's got it all - irresistible smile, beautiful eyes and an undeniable charm allowing him to steal all the sticks from his older siblings. Too cute! :)
Here is Sue, the owner of Dogz, with her awesome Gang: Chase, JJ, Steve and Ellie-Mae. Whenever you come to Dogz, the Gang will greet you at the gate and will also say a loud goodbye as you're leaving. Despite putting on a big loud show by the entrance, they really are the sweetest bunch there is - and handsome and smart, too! I love every single one of them - "senior" Chase who always comes for cuddles, beautiful, gentle JJ, Steve with a wild hairdo and always plenty to say, and a silly, sweet, bright Ellie. Most of them are rescues - and pretty lucky ones if you ask me! :-) They live on a beautiful property, with their own agility and treibball equipment, a private horse and a llama... and the most loving and caring human "parents". No wonder they are such happy dogs... Sue, maybe you could adopt me, too? ;-)
Yesterday we met some aussie and non-aussie friends at the Playground. The main star of the photo shoot was little Whiskey - a mini aussie who is currently being fostered by his wonderful foster mom Kim, and is up for adoption through AROO. Whiskey was there with his 2 foster sisters Sydney and Rumor and his best friends Darty and Roo.
Whiskey looooves to run and is incredibly fast! He loves to race and play with Darty, but will also run and run and run just for the fun of it. The other guys were also a very active bunch - it was so much fun to watch them play! :) Friday was one of the last beautiful days of summer and we took advantage of it best we could, going out with some friends to a gorgeous spot on the Ottawa River filled with rock art. The kids admired the art and tried their hand at building their own. There was also some rock skipping, "fishing", wading ashore and hunting for a green bug. It was a beautiful, calm, refreshing outing. We all needed it!
Here are some of my favourite students from one of my "advanced beginners" classes. I love these guys - they work really hard but always remember to keep it fun. And they're all so photogenic! :)
What awesome fun it was to go to Avalon Ranch with some friends to learn to dock dive! Zuni loves to swim but was a very reluctant jumper. All we needed to overcome the fear was some pro advice from Mary - the owner of Avalon Ranch, and a life vest! After some initial hesitation she decided that dock diving is now her favourite sport. And our friends who were happy to jump in from the get-go showed off their amazing flying abilities! |
